Police accident

A motorcyclist is fighting for his life after being involved in a crash with a caravan.

The incident happened on the A249 on Friday afternoon at Stockbury.

Police said a Skoda towing a caravan was driving towards Sittingbourne when it turned directly from lane two into the offside central slip road.

It then turned right across the Maidstone bound carriageway at the Hucking U-turn junction in Rumstead Lane.

As it did, a motorcycle with rider and pillion passenger driving in the same direction collided with the rear offside of the caravan as it turned right.

The riders were thrown into the Maidstone bound carriageway.

The passenger suffered a broken leg and internal injuries and is in a serious but stable condition.

The victim's next of kin have been informed.
