A MOTORCYCLIST was injured in a three vehicle collision which caused traffic rush-hour chaos early this morning.

The accident, which also involved a bus and a car, happened shortly after 7am near the Shell petrol station on the A229 at Blue Bell Hill, near Maidstone.

Kent Police has confirmed the motorcyclist suffered a leg injury and was taken to hospital.

Traffic was diverted from the Maidstone bound carriageway and back on again at Eccles leading to massive queues stretching back to junction 3 of the M2.

Emergency services were called with fire crews from Medway and Maidstone clearing petrol that had spilled across the road.
