TRAGIC: Dean Wickenden "touched the hearts of so many people"

A YOUNG man killed in a road crash had become a father for the first time only two weeks before his death.

Biker Dean Wickenden, 19, would also have become an uncle two days after the three-vehicle collision in Pear Tree Lane, Gillingham, on July 4.

His mother, Amanda Wickenden, and girlfriend Stacey Gardner have paid tribute to the man they say made them so happy.

Mr Wickenden, a labourer, of Canterbury Street, Gillingham, had been at the birth of daughter, Halli Rose, and was enjoying every minute of being a father.

He had big plans for his future with Stacey, his girlfriend of more than two years, her eldest daughter Mia, and his newborn daughter.

Stacey, 25, said: “He was a really hard worker and would get everything done as quickly as he could because he wanted to come home to his family.”

The former Medway Community College student had been riding a Suzuki motorbike and died at the scene of the accident. He had been taking driving lessons and planned to buy a car.

His mother "I knew Dean was popular but I didn’t realise he had touched the heart of so many people. He is loved by so many who will all desperately miss him. Dean made everyone laugh.”
