Boy and dog rescued from quarry in Greenhithe

A teenager and a dog called Dizzy have been rescued from a Kent quarry by a team of specially-trained firefighters.

The boy went in to get the Jack Russell after it fell into the pit in London Road, Greenhithe, just after 8pm last night.

When the youngster got stuck as well, a Kent Fire and Rescue Service rope rescue team from Deal were called to pull the pair to safety.

Neither the boy nor the dog were hurt.
