Boy punched in public park

POLICE are investigating an assault on a 15-year-old boy in a public park.

The boy has admitted to police that he and a friend were interfering with play equipment when a man in his mid-20s, who was accompanied by two young children, came up and punched him after telling them off about their behaviour.

The boy suffered a cut lip during the incident which occcurred in the park at Westmeads Road, Whitstable, just before noon on Saturday, February 18.
