Big queues built on the M2 and A249 this morning after a van broke down.

The A249 northbound is closed and there are three-mile queues due to the van being stranded between Junction 5 of the M2 for Sittingbourne/Stockbury Roundabout and the A2 Key Street Roundabout.

Traffic at Junction 5 of the M2

There is also congestion to Junction 4 of the M2 for Gillingham.

The position of the van on the road has meant the entire carriageway has had to be closed.

A recovery was carried out and by 10am the road had reopened.
