PART of Margate town centre was cordoned off after a suspicious package was found in the Mill Lane office complex this morning.

The building was evacuated when a padded envelope was reported to police who alerted bomb disposal experts from Folkestone.

A police spokeswoman said: “A controlled explosion was carried out and the package was found to contain nothing dangerous.”
