A motorist had a lucky escape when a car overturned on a busy roundabout. The dark blue Seat was travelling towards Gillingham on A278 Hoath Way when it was in collision with another car.

The accident happened at around 12.30pm on Friday afternoon at the Hoath Lane roundabout.

Both drivers escaped with only minor injuries. One was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital. Two crews from Medway fire station attended the scene along with police and an ambulance.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “There was no-one trapped inside the vehicles and everyone was out by the time we arrived.

"Our role there was simply to check the scene was safe. There was a small petrol spillage but it was off the road."
