The operation was planned as part of the Tunbridge Wells neighbourhood police team’s action against rural burglaries, particularly from sheds and outbuildings.

Insp Jon Kirby, from the team, said: “Earlier this year we saw a slight increase in this type of crime, and although it is still less than last year, we want to make sure we continue the downward trend.”

“We want people to know that we investigate crime and act on information received. If you see a vehicle you think is suspicious you should report it to the police. Do not put yourself at risk, but if you can get the vehicle registration, this is always very helpful.”
