A CAT had to have surgery on an eye injury after being shot in the face by an airgun pellet.

The pellet became lodged between corner of the animal's eye and its tear duct after the incident in Borough Road, Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppey.

The cat is currently recovering after its operation.
