Service to be held at Canterbury Cathedral for BBC's Neil Bell

A service for BBC sports reporter Neil Bell will be held in Canterbury Cathedral.

Neil, who was described by the corporation as a sporting legend, passed away last Sunday aged 61 after a battle with cancer.

The service of thanksgiving will take place at 3pm on Monday, April 23.

Neil, known affectionately as 'Belly', had been covering sport across Kent and the South East for more than 30 years.

He was father to two sons, Josh and Barnaby.

His wife Jane said: "The boys and myself are devastated at the loss of a beloved partner and a fantastic dad.

"We'd like to thank everyone for the wonderful tributes and overwhelming love for Belly. He'll always be with us in so many ways.

"Our family are very proud of him."
