Police would like to talk to this man about the robbery

A WOMAN jumped onto the bonnet of a car in an attempt to stop a thief escaping with a large amount of money she had just withdrawn from a bank.

Now police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the robbery.

The drama unfolded as the victim withdrew cash from the NatWest bank in Ashford Road, Bearsted, Maidstone, at about 1.35pm on Friday.

The robber snatched the money and was driving away in what is believed to be a silver Ford Fiesta.

DI Kris Hill, who is leading the investigation, said: "This was a particularly callous crime with the offender showing extreme ruthlessness to get away."

The man is described as being aged 30-40, with mousey coloured, short spiky hair. He was believed to have been wearing a blue checked shirt and glasses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Maidstone police station on 01622 604180 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
