Police want to speak to this man in connection with robberies at two bookmakers in Strood, and one in Snodland.

This man is wanted by police in connection with robberies at three bookmakers in Strood and Snodland.

The three raids - which took place at two Coral Bookmakers in Strood and a Choice Bet shop in Snodland - are being linked by detectives and this CCTV image has now been released.

On each occasion a man wearing sunglasses entered the stores and threatened staff before escaping with a quantity of cash.

A police spokesman said the man claimed to be armed but it is not known if this was the case or not.

The latest robbery happened at Choice Bet in Snodland High Street at around noon on Wednesday, December 2.

Before that, two Coral shops in Strood had been targeted. The one in Strood High Street was hit at around 11am on Sunday, November 29 and then the next day at 8.50pm, a second store in Gun Lane was robbed.

According to police, the suspect is white, aged between 20 and 30 and about 6ft tall. During all three robberies he was wearing a light-green, parka-style coat with a furry collar, light-coloured jeans and sunglasses.

Ch Supt Steve Corbishley said: "We are connecting all three of these robberies. Fortunately, this type of offence is rare and no one was hurt, but staff were shaken by the events."

The Association of Bookmakers has offered a reward for any information leading to the arrest and charging of the offender.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 01634 792567 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
