Chatham car park plunge victim named as Robert Keywood

park at the Pentagon Shopping Centre

A man who died after falling from a multi-storey car park
in Chatham has today been named as Robert Keywood.

The 57-year-old is believed to have jumped from the Medway
Council car park, in the Pentagon Shopping Centre, on Friday
morning.

An inquest into the death of Mr Keywood, of Landor Court,
Hempstead, was opened and adjourned today.

A postmortem examination revealed his death was caused by
multiple injuries.

Kent Police said officers were satisfied Mr
Keywood's death was non-suspicious.

He fell from the multi-storey car park, on the side of

Solomon Road, at about 11.20am.

Despite police officers trying to treat him, Mr Keywood was
pronounced dead at the scene.

Shocked shoppers and people working nearby spoke of their horror
said they were horrified to have seen the man jump - before a sheet
was put over him.
