Michelle Grant, Miss Flavour 2009 finalist

Chatham student Michelle Grant has made it to the finals of the Miss Flavour 2009 modelling competition - and won't let a broken toe get in the way of her success.

The 26-year-old, of Kent George Road, Walderslade, travels to London on Wednesday for the live final.

Michelle is studying health and social care at the Medway campus of Canterbury Christ Church University and hopes to prove you can have brains as well as beauty!

She said she'll have to live with the pain of her injured toe. "It is the chance for me to realise my dream of being a model," she said.

Michelle is one of 21 finalists in the competition, organised by Flavour magazine. She was picked from hundreds of entries across the UK and is Kent's sole representative.
