MANY Gillingham FC supporters were in high spirits after it was announced that the club had signed veteran striker Steve Claridge, plus an international defender.

Claridge, a much travelled player, has signed on a non-contract basis.

Brent Sancho, a Trinidad and Tabago defender, has also joined the staff at Priestfield.
