The pair, both in their teens, took cash from the till at just after 9pm in Coral's bookmakers in Mill Hill, Deal, yesterday.

They had threatened the cashier and forced the 20-year-old man from Deal to open the safe. They struck the cashier with a baton but he was not seriously injured.

The men ran out of the bookies and up Mill Hill towards St Richard’s Road.

They are described as in their late teens – one was of stocky build and wearing dark grey tracksuit bottoms, a black padded jacket and blue jeans.

One of the men was wearing Nike Air Max trainers. The other man’s footwear had red stripes.

Police are speaking to witnesses and studying CCTV.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Constable Ron Smith at Kent Police on 101 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
