Crash car wedged on power cable

THIS was the scene following a smash between two cars in Gillingham. A people-carrier, pictured, plunged into bushes and a fence after colliding with a white Vauxhall.

The driver of the Vauxhall had left the scene by the time police arrived.

One woman was taken to hospital with neck injuries but her passenger escaped unscathed from the accident in Gillingham's Cleave Road at about noon on Wednesday.

Fire crews and police attended but could not move the car until the electricity board isolated a power mains which was wedged underneath the vehicle.
