Ever wondered how creative work can make an impact on people’s lives?

Shared Vision, Cultural Ambassadors 2008, an exhibition of creative work by local people, runs at the Turner Contemporary Droit House at Margate harbour from Thursday until Sunday, July 20.

Jo Ursell, based in Margate, has been able to develop her career as an artist since attending the course and now works as a gallery assistant for Turner Contemporary.

She said: “The course has given me the opportunity to meet artists and curators and have the opportunity to talk about art with visitors to the Turner Contemporary gallery spaces.”

The exhibition will show work involving painting, sculpture and printmaking.

Artist Sara Wicks, from the University College for the Creative Arts, who has been working with the participants says: “The process has allowed for individuals to develop their own voices visually, which has resulted in a range of exiting new work using the locality as a source of inspiration.”

The exhibition is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 5pm.
