Watch Johnny talking
about his accident and see his injuries.

“I had an angel on my shoulder.” Cyclist Johnny Medford has
spoken for the first time about the day he survived a freak
accident which left him battling for his life.

Mr Medford, 37, almost sliced off both arms when he
plunged through a porch window at his home.

He had just finished a training ride for a charity event when the
brakes on his bike seized up. He went over the handlebars and
crashed through the window.

Mr Medford, from Silverspot Close, Rainham, said: “I remember
hitting my head but I must have gone through at an angle as glass
cut both my arms really badly.

“It’s all a bit hazy but I remember seeing how big my wounds were
and blood was spurting up out of my left arm.”
