A 30-year-old woman is still being questioned by detectives at Maidstone Police Station today following a fatal fire in Victoria Street, Eccles, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The woman was arrested yesterday morning by detectives from Maidstone and Malling police investigating the death of 27-year-old Matthew Thatcher, who was employed as an engineer by the Mid Kent Water Company.

Detectives are seeking an extension of the custody period into tomorrow (Wednesday).
