Developers back in market for land

Well funded developers are back in the market and looking for land with or without planning permission, making it an ideal time to sell, according to RPC Land & New Homes.

With available development land at a premium, landowners are in a position of strength, says Peter Randall, managing director of RPC.

He said: "Recently we have seen a big increase in the numbers of developers with funds available to snap up suitable plots.

"Landowners who have been waiting for the market to pick up before selling could well find that now is the right time to make a move.

"With changes to the planning system imminent which could make permissions harder to come by, plots which already have planning consent are particularly valuable."

However, with uncertainty still rife over future government policy, potential sellers should be aware that the recovery in the market could stall suddenly depending on future announcements.

Peter added: "The best advice to anyone considering putting their land on the market is to talk to an expert."
