DogLost says hundreds of dogs reported stolen

Hundreds of dogs have been reported stolen even though microchipping is now compulsory.

The number reported stolen stands at 217, a rise of four times since last year, with some of those in Kent, according to the website DogLost.

There are now calls for tougher sentences for those convicted of carrying out such crimes.
