Police in Dover are hunting a girl gang who launched a vicious attack on a teen.

It happened between 3.15 and 3.45pm on Monday, December 6, as the 14-year-old was walking home from school.

Officers said she was walking with two friends down Astor Avenue when they saw a large group of girls who followed them down towards Tower Hamlets.

The group caught up with the schoolgirls, and the 14-year-old was pushed, slapped and then pulled to the ground where she was kicked in the head by two girls.

It is believed she lost consciousness, and was helped by a passer-by.

The girl was taken to the William Harvey Hospital where she was treated for bruising to her body and head.

Police want to speak to anyone who has information about the incident, in particular the passer by who assisted the girl.

Anyone with information should contact police on 01622 690 690, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
