Driver, 24, dies in crash

A YOUNG man died after an accident involving two cars on Sunday evening.

The crash happened on the A258, at the junction with Station Road, St Margaret's at Cliffe, near Deal, at around 5.45pm and involved a silver Citroen Saxo and a blue SEAT Leon.

The driver of the Citroen, a 24-year-old man from Deal, died a short time later.

A 22-year-old woman who was travelling in the Citroen suffered a shoulder injury and is being treated an the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

A two-year-old child in the Citroen was unhurt, as were the 21-year-old male driver of the SEAT from Densole and his passenger, a 16-year-old girl from Sandwich.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact the serious crash investigation unit on 01622 798538.
