Officers said the vehicle came to their attention as it sped across a solid white line while joining the motorway.

They then recorded his speed - which at times reached more than 110mph.

The car, which was pulled over near Sittingbourne at 5.55pm, also used the hard shoulder to undertake other vehicles on the road.

The officers also tweeted about the incident earlier.

They said: "The day in court should be interesting."

A police spokesman added: "A 37-year-old man from Sittingbourne was reported for driving on the hard shoulder, careless driving and speeding and has been summonsed to court."
