A man was trapped in his van after a crash involving two vehicles in Chart Sutton.

Plough Wents Road in the village near Maidstone, was closed from the junction of Four Wents to Brishing Lane after the accident, which involved a Transit van and a Ford Focus car.

It happened at around 8.15am Monday and Kent Fire and Rescue, police, ambulance and the Kent Air Ambulance all attended.

Fire officers used hydraulic cutting equipment to free a man, believed to be in his 50s, from the van.

Police said he was then taken to hospital by land ambulance, with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
