Driver dies in hospital after crash

AN 84-year-old man has died in hospital following a two-vehicle road crash at Tankerton, near Whitstable.

The collision occurred at around 3pm on Friday, October 21, at the Tankerton Road junction with Graystone Road.

A blue Ford Transit van was in collision with a blue Ford Fiesta driven by the 84-year-old who lived in Canterbury.

The victim died of his injuries at the Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother Hospital in Margate on Tuesday afternoon. He has not yet been named.

The collision is now the subject of an inquiry by the Serious Crash Investigation Unit. Any witnesses are asked to contact the unit on 01622 600970.
