VAUXHALL has launched a new scheme to give drivers peace of mind between services by providing a safety net against unexpected expense.

From £39, including VAT, customers enrolling for MasterCover ServiceLink can be confident that should the worst happen, key components of their car will be covered by the special insurance policy.

Aimed particularly at drivers of older vehicles out of warranty, it offers parts and labour coverage of up to £2,000 in any one year.

Free MOT test insurance, which covers owners against test failure, is an added benefit worth £25 for all customers taking out a MasterCover ServiceLink policy before the end of the year.

MasterCover ServiceLink Plan one at £39 covers most engine components.

Plan two adds items from the cooling and fuel systems for £59.

Key electrical components are included in the Plan three at £79.

The most comprehensive package is Plan four at £129. This covers all of the mechanical and electrical components that were original equipment parts, except for wear and tear.
