Paul Webb is demanding an apology over the mobile phone ordeal.

Driving instructor Paul Webb ended up in a cell after a police officer accused him of using his mobile phone at the wheel.

Furious Mr Webb, who is demanding an apology, plans to appeal in court against the £60 penalty ticket he was given.

Mr Webb, from Chatham, admits that things got heated when the officer ignored his plea to check the phone's call history.

He was arrested and spent three hours in a cell before being released without charge.

Mr Webb, an instructor for 13 years, has had a clean licence for 25 years.

He said: "I asked him to look at my call log and phone but he refused. I was livid."

The incident took place on Gillingham Business Park. Mr Webb was in a driving school car but had no L-pupil with him at the time.
