The man who took the bold step of advertising his labour for sale on eBay has found a job.

Andy Palmer, 30, of Plains Avenue, Maidstone created an eBay auction to find work for a month, after he was made redundant from a business development role with Northern Rock in August.

Now he has been offered a month’s work by Business Opportunity Review, a company based in Ashford and starts on Monday.

He does not yet know exactly what work he will be doing. At the end of the month, Mr Palmer will invoice the company for £1,500, 25 per cent of which will go to the NSPCC. The role was offered following publicity around Mr Palmer’s advert.

He has also been offered temporary work and has a telephone interview for a position where he had previously been unsuccessful.

Mr Palmer said: "There has been a lot of interest and I think it came about following the publicity around the eBay advert, which first started with the Kent Messenger.

"I really do owe a huge thanks to the Kent Messenger."
