Former Bristol City boss Keith Millen has emerged as a contender for the vacant Gillingham manager’s job.

Millen admitted this week it was a job that interested him and it is believed he has been spoken to about the role.

Millen, who is currently holidaying, said: "I can’t and wouldn’t comment on any rumours. I am interested but that’s all I can say."

Chairman Paul Scally (pictured) has previously said he is in no rush to appoint a successor to Andy Hessenthaler but a new man could be unveiled soon.

Also believed to be in the running are former Barnet manager Martin Allen, ex Sudan national coach Stephen Constantine and Peterborough coach Mark Robson.
