A WOMAN posing as a nurse conned her way into the home of an elderly woman on Friday. The 92-year-old, who has regular blood pressure checks at her home in Grange Road, Ramsgate, was surprised when the young woman arrived unexpectedly.

As they talked, the pensioner saw a man in her kitchen. He shook her hand and said he was visiting with the nurse to check housing conditions. But the woman asked the pair to leave. Afterwards she checked her bedroom and found £90 had been stolen.

The woman, in her twenties, about 5ft 2in and with shoulder-length straight brown hair, wore a pink dress and blue jacket. The man is also in his twenties, about 6ft with short brown hair. He was wearing a white knitted jumper and jeans. Thanet police can be contacted on 01843 231055.
