The family of a woman killed by a train on a railway crossing just yards from their home have paid an emotional tribute to her.

The body of 54-year-old Anne Nacci was discovered in Clifton Road, Whitstable, just before 6am last Tuesday.

She was found near the spot where ice cream shop owner Jan Graham, also 54, was killed three weeks before.

Her son Aaron paid tribute to Mrs Nacci. He said: “Anne will be greatly missed by all those close to her.

“She was loved by all of her family and her husband, parents, in-laws, sisters, brother, daughters, son and grandchildren will always have fond memories of the precious time we had together.

“Although I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their help and support, this is a very distressing time for us all and we would appreciate being left to deal with our loss and remember all of the good and happy memories of my mother.”

Anne worked as an administration assistant for the Whitstable Times before taking voluntary redundancy in 2009.

On her Facebook page she described herself as an “artist/writer into Boho-style, cafe culture, semi-abstract art and photography”.

An inquest into her death has been opened and British Transport Police are investigating.

Spokesman Gavin Brown said: “It remains unclear at this time which train service was involved in the incident.

"The investigation to establish that is ongoing and will form part of the file we are preparing for the coroner.”
