The man who died in a crash on Saturday as he was being followed by police has been named.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is now investigating the circumstances surrounding Brett Atkin's death.

The 41-year-old of The Briars, West Kingsdown had to be cut from his BMW following the collision at Scratchers Lane, Farningham, but paramedics couldn't resuscitate him.

Kent Police are carrying out their own independent assessment into what happened.
