Father punched in face in front of six-week-old baby

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was punched several times in the face while out with his six-week old baby in a Kent town.

The 20-year-old victim was with walking with the baby in a pushchair in outside the Somerfield store in College Walk, Margate, when a black 4x4 vehicle pulled up.

A man got out and hit the father two or three times in the face before getting back in the car and driving off.

He suffered a nosebleed and two black eyes.

Police say the attack followed a verbal altercation outside the town centre Primark store.

Anyone with information about the assault - which took place between 2pm and 3pm on Thursday, August 30 - is asked to contact police on 01843 222142 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
