VANDALS started a fire in a children's playground last night.

One crew from Thames-side Fire Station was called to Cedar Avenue in Kings Farm just after 9pm.

It is believed someone had started a bonfire on the soft matting.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Spokesman said: "Minor damage was caused to a small patch of the matting."
