Firefighters tackle hospital blaze

FIREFIGHTERSwere called to the Princess Royal University Hospital, Orpington, last night to deal with a blaze in a patients room.

The building was evacuated at just after 7pm after a patient in the psychiatric ward set fire to a wadrobe causing significant damage.

The fire was extinguished by a member of staff and firefighters were on scene for 15 minutes before declaring the area safe.

No one was hurt in the incident and patients returned to the building shortly afterwards.
