Firefighters tackle hotel blaze

SIX fire engines were called to a blaze at a hotel at Cliftonville, near Margate. The fire broke out in a second floor linen cupboard at the Fort Lodge Hotel in Fort Crescent at about 4pm yesterday.

Eight firefighters wore breathing apparatus to fight the blaze which spread to two bedrooms.

No one was injured but smoke and water caused damage on three floors.
