A block of flats in Margate was evacuated during a fire in the early hours of this morning.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to a blaze in a flat on the third floor of the property on Ethelbert Crescent just before 5am.

Around 20 firefighters were needed to bring the flames under control.

It is not thought anyone was injured.

The cause of the blaze is unclear at this stage.
