A 17-year-old boy has been arrested by police investigating how a local football club was blacked out.

The youth, from Northfleet, was arrested in Sittingbourne in connection with other offences.

Police are questioning him about the first of two burglaries that have left Ebbsfleet United without floodlights.

In the second raid, thieves stole cabling to the floodlights.

If matches have to be cancelled because they can’t afford to repair the floodlights, it could also lead to job losses.

A trench has been dug ready to re-lay the cables.
