Five alerts which were in place across the county have now been lifted.

People in Kent were told to prepare for flooding ahead of expected high tides.

The Environment Agency alerts related to towns and villages in places including Deal, Medway and the Isle of Sheppey.

Flooding was witnessed yesterday on the Isle of Sheppey following higher than normal tides.

Alerts are the lowest level of weather warning and mean that flooding is possible and residents should be prepared for a worse case scenario.
