Flood alerts have been issued for parts of Kent tomorrow morning.

The Environment Agency has put out alerts warning that flooding is possible and residents should be prepared.

The flood alerts are in place along the coast from Dartford to Allhallows; from Whitstable to Margate, for Sheppey and along the coast from Kemsley to Seasalter; and for the Medway estuary and the Isle of Grain.

The Environment Agency said: "This has been issued due to the high tide forecast for Thursday morning.

"Highest tide level is expected to be at 1.30am on Thursday. Flooding is possible two hours either side of this time from 11.30pm to 3.30am."

There's also an alert in place from Dartford Creek and Mar Dyke to the Thames Barrier.

The agency added: "River levels are expected to be high as a result of spring tides and a closure of the Thames Barrier.

"Water will be maintained within the downstream network of flood defences, which include river walls, embankments and flood gates, however flooding of low lying footpaths and open spaces is possible for one to two hours around high tide.

"The forecast high tide at the Thames Barrier is 3.45am on Thursday. We are closely monitoring the situation."
