High School Musical, Pirates of the Caribbean and football were among the themes of a week of events chosen by kids, for kids.

Almost 150 children took part activity days at Minster College to keep youngsters aged 8-14 entertained during the half term break.

Activities included a day of street dance, making costumes inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy characters like Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp, a Disney’s High School Musical dress up day and Charlton football training.

The events were chosen by participants at previous events.

James Thatcher, sports development manager for Swale Council, said: “At the end of the week we ask kids what they want next time, and as long as it’s feasible, we try to do it.”

The next set of events will take place in the summer holidays, starting on Monday, July 28. For more information, call 01795 417600.
