Forget the fire, lads, the game must go on

After the fire: the cricket pavilion was left in tatters

They had no changing rooms and the stumps were black - but that didn't stop one Kent cricket team from playing their traditional Sunday match.

The picture above shows the devastation after arsonists targeted Harrietsham Cricket Club, completely destroying the pavilion.

The 40-year-old building - which also stored all the club's expensive grounds-keeping equipment - will now have to be demolished and rebuilt.

But in true English spirit, the match went ahead as planned despite the huge setback.

"We can't let a fire stop us," said club spokesman David Oversby. "We had to make do and mend."
