A 20-year-old man was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with severe facial injuries after he was assaulted and robbed by four men in Canal Road in Strood.

Police said the victim was returning from a nightclub at the weekend when he was kicked and punched in the face.

One of the alleged attackers was arrested shortly after the attack. Three other men were arrested in connection with the incident when they attempted to intervene in the arrest of the first man.
