Four-year-old boy hit by car in Chatham

An air ambulance was scrambled when a four-year-old boy was hit by a car in Chatham.

A 999 caller said the boy was unconscious. The Kent Air Ambulance was alerted and landed near the scene seven minutes later.

But by the time the airborne paramedics arrived, the boy was conscious and deemed to only have minor injuries.

He was escorted by paramedics on the ground to Medway Maritime Hospital.

It happened at 3pm yesterday in Palmerston Road, near Chatham Town FC.
