Heavyweight boxer Frank Bruno came to Orpington this week to launch a new boxing academy.

Based at The Priory School in Tintagel Road, the boxing academy hopes to find the next world champion capable of winning gold at the London 2012 olympics.

A spokesman for the school said: “This exciting prospect is unique to south-east England and gives an opportunity for students to follow their sporting passion using education as a lever to capture an audience that otherwise may not have stayed on in the system.”

Frank Bruno became WBC Heavyweight Champion in 1995 and won 40 of his 45 professional fights.
