Gated development is designed to blend in

Gated development is designed to blend in

A gated development of six new homes has been cleverly designed to blend with the historic surroundings at The Street in Detling.

Guy Osborne, of Ashfold Estates, said: “The priority was to design Chiltern Place to accord with its historic environment.

“This was achieved by designing each property individually and ensuring the facades complement the surrounding period homes, embracing materials such as white weatherboarding, Kent peg tiles and internally using galleried landings and open fireplaces.”

Chiltern Place includes a pair of three-bedroom semi-detached cottages, Friars Cottage and Millers Cottage.

Designed to sit within the historic street of Detling, the Kent tiled frontage of these cottages remains in keeping with the neighbouring buildings and can be accessed by a private fenced and hedged front garden.

Merchant House sits at the rear of the development and is a four-bedroom detached white weatherboarded house which has large front and rear gardens, with a double car port.

Also available now are five-bedroom Knights Lodge and the four-bedroom Yeoman, both with two en-suites, contemporary ground floor layout and double carports.
