Gillingham are being linked with a move for Maidenhead defender Devante McKain.

The teenage centre-back featured for the Gills in their development game against Luton on Tuesday.

And United boss Johnson Hippolyte, speaking to the Maidenhead Advertiser, said: "Gillingham want him. It's great news for Devante that the call was not a ‘no thank you’ but a ‘yes, we want him’.

McKain is expected to continue playing for Maidenhead while negotiations continue. His side face Welling this Saturday.

*Keeper Ross Flitney has joined Blue Square Bet South side Eastleigh – managed by former Gills coach Richard Hill - on loan for a month.
